This is a subject. If I'm not mistaken, Jamaica had the same regulations as Britain concerning record import/manufacturing : no massive import of records was allowed, records had be manufactured in Jamaica, with the exception of the "pre" releases. These rules applied in Britain and in Jamaica. So, for big selling international artists, a Jamaican press was mandatory to sell the records (under license) on the island, mainly LPs, and most likely manufactured at Dynamic. So, missing matrix numbers in series may be rock/pop records. If someone has more accurate infos about the subject...

I've listed these in RKR as "bootleg", before I understood that many of these were not bootlegs but properly licensed. However I have kept the term in there as a useful search term so you can pull all of these up easily. Early on Bob and I decided not to track these, probably it was a purist impulse, and I only began to document these in recent years when I found some in my discard boxes. As Nicholas says these fill gaps, particular in Coxsone series.
